I would start with a great deal of skepticism about what the people of
Gaza are clearly on record for. They elected Hamas in ‘07, apparently with a term of “forever”. People in Gaza are mostly on record wanting an end to their terrible circumstances. And clearly not having much faith in Israel’s intentions. Most people in Gaza are mostly concerned with survival, not deep geopolitical thinking.
Broad strokes, I don’t like Bibi’s plan to make Gaza exactly like the WB. I think it has to pursue some sort of international administration of the strip. Which will be tough - who even wants that job. But Bibi’s idea will basically look like the WB imo - no real Palestinian govt, and Israel as the real security presence. With few Pals thinking they care much about their security.
I think Bibi wants an endless crisis so he can constantly claim “now’s not the time for accountability of my regime”. [Post edited by hoolstoptheheels at 11/15/2023 10:07AM]
